Dr. H. K. Bajaj is an alumnus of Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and is presently working as Sr. Taxonomist at Department of Nematology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar which he headed for more than three and half years. He has been teaching courses on Nematode morphology, taxonomy and biology since 1977. He is co-author of Text Book on Introductory Plant Nematology, published by ICAR, New Delhi and Practical Manual on Introductory Plant Nematology published by CCS H.A.U, Hisar. He has been a technical member of the team for writing 'Definitional Dictionary of Nematology' published by commission for scientific and technical terminology, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. He has guided 3 Ph.D. and 4 MSc. students. He has handled four research projects and contributed twenty chapters in books and published over 200 research papers in journals of repute. He had been instrumental in production of three video films on nematodes including Earcockle Disease of Wheat that was transmitted several times on National Channel in order to eliminate this disease.
Dr. R.K. Walia, Born on Nov. 26, 1956, Dr. Raman Kumar Walia passed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Hons) from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from IARI, New Delhi. Since 1980, he has worked as various capacities in the Department of Nematology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University and is currently holding the post of Professor of Nematology. Dr. Walia has contributed significantly in the specialized area of biological control of plant parasitic nematodes, especially the bacterial parasite, Pasteuria penetrans, for which he has received advanced training at the University of Florida, USA. He has been Principal Investigator of several research projects funded by ICAR. He has also contributed immensely towards the development of teaching in Nematology. Besides, editing three books, recently he has authored a Text Book on Introductory Plant Nematology - Published by ICAR.
