R. L. Meena
Shri R. L. Meena retired as PCCF of Gujarat Forest Department. He has been studious since his schooling. He received hisgraduation and post-graduation from University of Rajasthan. He worked as Lecturer, Govt College, Kota. Then worked as Scientist, NPL, Delhi. He joined Indian Forest Service in 1984 and allotted to Gujarat Cadre. He worked as DFO in different fields of normal forestry, social forestry and wildlife management. He has been awarded Governor’s Award for the best performance in plantation. After that he was on central deputation in ICFRE and worked as Coordinator (Research), AFRI, Jodhpur for 6 years. Then worked as CF and CCF, Kutch Circle. During his tenure, Kutch Biosphere Reserve and Conservation Reserve were declared. He wrote the management plans of all the Sanctuaries in Kutch. He worked strenuously on Mangrove and Guggal plantations. Then he was posted as Director, Gir National Park and Sanctuary. He wrote present management plan of Gir PA. Gir got the best managed PA award in 2013 during his leadership. After that he was in charge of Gujarat Forest Administration and also worked as Chairman, Gujarat Biodiversity Board. He has attended 30 national and international trainings and written 31 research articles and papers in reputed journals. After retirement, he has updated Gujarat Forest Manuals in 2019-2020 since after 1972. Now, he is engaged in preparation of Zonal Master Plan for Eco Sensitive Zone of Vansda National Park. He is RAG member of AFRI, Jodhpur.
Aadil A. Kazi
Dr. Aadil A. Kazi is working as Assistant Professor at College of Forestry, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari. He started his career as Conservation Officer with WWF-India in 2006. He received hisgraduation, post-graduationin Forestry form NAU. He qualified NET in Forestry and Environmental Science in 2011. He has earned Honours Certificate Course in Wildlife Management from Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun and awarded Institute’s Gold medal for the Top Trainee and Institute’s Silver Medal for the Best All Round Wildlifer. He has more than ten yearsteaching and research experience and has trained many undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of forestry, wildlife and environment. He has authored more than 20 papers in national and international journals and magazines, 7 books, and attended 23 seminars and conferences. He has accomplished three projects and working on projects that contribute in forest and environment conservation. For his noteworthy contribution in education and training, he has been conferred many awardsincluding reputed Director General’s Baton and Young Scientist Award. He is in charge of forestry field training, Course Director of Certificate Course in Nature and Wildlife Photography, and also serving the nation as a Lieutenant in the Army wing of National Cadet Corps. He is a member of various national and international bodies working in forest, wildlife and environment conservation including the member of IUCN CEC.
