Dr S.K. Sood is Professor and Dean Life Sciences, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He obtained his M.Sc. (1974) and M.Phil. (1976) from Himachal Pradesh University and Ph.D. (1981) from Nagarjuna University, Guntur, specializing in Plant Systematics and Embryology. For his post-doctoral, he underwent specialized training in Ethnobotany. He has had a brilliant academic career (triple gold medallist) followed by over 30 years of teaching and conducting research in Botany at postgraduate as well as research levels. His current major interests are in the theory and practice of systematics, flora of North-West Himalaya, ethnic tribes and conservation research.
Pankaj Gupta, Principal scientist in CSIR-Central Road Research Institute, an autonomous institute under Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He is having more than 22 years research experience in the field of geology and in engineering geology. He worked in many research and consultancy projects related to slope stability and other Geotechnical issues with especial reference to mountain roads. He did his Masters in Applied Geology from the University of Roorkee (now it is named as IIT Roorkee). He also did his Ph. D. from University of Roorkee. He has published 25 research papers in international/National Journal/conference/Symposium/seminar etc. He has received UGC/CSIR fellowship and best paper awards and guided many B.E. & M. Sc. Students for their thesis work. He was external examiner for the doctoral thesis evaluation, member of many professional bodies and member of Bureau of Indian Standard committee for making BIS Code. He is a reviewer for many research journals and has reviewed the papers for the Fifth International Conference on case Histories in Geotechnical Engineering, New York, NY April 13-17, 2004. Travelled in many countries across Europe.
Dr. Suresh Kumar, Ph.D. Delhi University alumni is an eminent
ecologist. He has been serving ICAR- Central Arid Zone Research
Institute, Jodhpur for the last 37 years in the capacity of Scientist
(1978-1986), Sr. Scientist (1986-1998), Principal Scientist (1998-
2009) and Head (2009-2015). He has handled 23 national and
international projects, published 246 research articles, 10 research
monographs/books and guided three Ph.D. students. He has been
honoured with various awards like P. Maheshwari Memorial
Award of DU, ICAR Team Research Award, Dr. K A Shankar
Narayanan Award. He has also been invited to various countries
for lectures and consultations like Japan, Italy, Sarjah, Australia and USA. His work on
desert ecology, mine spoil reclamation and Lead Botanical Garden for Desert has been
globally acclaimed. Presently he has been member of expert groups constituted by
various ministries on desert, extinct species etc.
